Empowering the Next Generation of Innovators,
Creators & Game-Changers
Tai Prince Designs STEM was founded with one mission: to ignite curiosity, amplify creativity, and expand access to STEM, innovation, and entrepreneurship for students from every background. Built at the intersections of engineering, design-thinking, and hands-on exploration, our programs create a pipeline where young people can see themselves as builders, problem-solvers, inventors, and leaders.

Why STEM + Innovation + Entrepreneurship Matter
The world is evolving faster than ever. By 2030:
-
85% of jobs will require STEM skills
-
The global gaming industry will surpass $300 billion, outpacing film and music combined
-
Innovation-based careers (engineering, technology, design, AI, robotics, green energy) are growing at double the national average
-
Entrepreneurship among youth ages 13 to 19 is at an all-time high, with 1 in 3 students expressing interest in starting a business
Yet many students—especially Black, Brown, and underserved youth—are not meaningfully exposed to these pathways early enough to see themselves in them.
That is where Tai Prince Designs STEM is changing the narrative.

A Vision Rooted in Experience and Purpose
With a foundation in mechanical engineering, collegiate leadership, corporate experience, and extensive STEM outreach across Houston, Tai Prince has seen first-hand how exposure changes futures. She built this organization to ensure that young creators—especially students from historically underserved communities—have access to the tools, experiences, and support they need to thrive.

The Power of Innovation Through Gameplay
The STEM Game Challenge was created to bring together critical thinking, design, creativity, and entrepreneurship—a combination that mirrors the real-world innovation cycle used by engineers, designers, and startup founders.
Through the challenge, students:
-
Design original board, card, digital, or prototype-based games
-
Apply real engineering and design-thinking frameworks
-
Practice teamwork, iteration, testing, and refinement
-
Pitch their creations—just like real entrepreneurs
-
Experience the full innovation lifecycle from idea to launch
Game design is not just “fun”—it is STEM in motion: logic, mechanics, strategy, storytelling, mathematics, user experience, systems engineering, and creative problem-solving.

The Impact of the STEM Game Challenge
We launched the STEM Game Challenge to give middle- and high-school students a platform to design, build, and pitch their very own STEM-inspired games—from board games and card games to prototypes and digital concepts.
The challenge exists because:
-
Students learn best by building, not memorizing.
-
Creativity fuels confidence, especially when students can see their ideas come to life.
-
Entrepreneurship begins with exploration—we help them understand product design, user experience, and bringing an idea to market.
-
Representation matters. When students see STEM and innovation through lenses that reflect their culture, community, and interests, they step into the arena with boldness.
-
Play is the gateway into STEM pathways—accessible, fun, and powerful.
Most importantly, the Game Challenge is designed to show students that their ideas have value and the world needs their creativity.
This work is reshaping the possibilities for the next generation—one idea, one game, and one student at a time.
